A fresh milestone has emerged in Europe’s regulated crypto landscape as a major French banking group expands its blockchain footprint with a strategic partnership with Ripple to utilize XRP Ledger (XRPL). The development strengthens Ripple’s institutional positioning and highlights the growing role of the XRPL in compliant stablecoin issuance.
SG-FORGE Launches EUR CoinVertible on XRPL
SG-FORGE, the digital assets arm of French banking giant Societe Generale, announced in a recent press release the launch of its euro-denominated stablecoin, EUR CoinVertible, on the XRP Ledger.
As a result, XRPL has now become the third blockchain to host EUR CoinVertible, reinforcing SG-FORGE’s multi-chain expansion strategy. The launch was facilitated by Ripple through its institutional-grade custody infrastructure, enabling seamless integration with Ripple’s enterprise payment and liquidity solutions.
By deploying on XRPL, SG-FORGE intends to tap into the blockchain’s scalability, high transaction speed, and low-cost settlement structure, key features that make it attractive for regulated financial products.
Commenting on the development, SG-FORGE CEO Jean-Marc Stenger stated that the successful launch of EUR CoinVertible on XRPL marks a new step in reinforcing the bank’s commitment to offering next-generation compliant crypto assets that promote transparency, security, and scalability.
Ripple’s 2026 Roadmap Accelerates XRPL Institutional Growth
The strategic deployment comes shortly after the total value of tokenized assets on XRPL crossed the $2 billion mark, with roughly $1.3 billion recorded this year alone, signaling a surge in institutional activity on the blockchain.
In its 2026 roadmap, Ripple outlined plans to position XRPL as a major global hub for stablecoins and tokenized assets, citing their core use cases for banks, fintech firms, and asset managers. Interestingly, shortly after, UK investment giant Aviva recently partnered with Ripple to bring traditional fund structures onto XRPL, addressing rising demand for tokenization solutions.
Additionally, Ripple announced the launch of its RLUSD stablecoin on Binance, expanding liquidity access across major exchanges. Interestingly, XRPL has recorded over $1 billion in stablecoin trading volume, further underscoring the accelerating network adoption and expanding real-world financial use cases.
XRP Price Struggles Despite Positive Institutional Developments
Despite the positive development, XRP, the native token of the XRPL, has remained in the red, mirroring the broader crypto market’s cautious sentiment.
Adding to the mixed outlook, Standard Chartered recently slashed its XRP price prediction for the year to $2.80. This marks a sharp revision from its earlier 2025 projection, in which the bank boldly predicted that XRP could surge to $8 by the end of 2026, representing a roughly 65% reduction from its prior target.
However, the bank maintained its long-term 2030 outlook for XRP at $28, signaling continued confidence in its extended growth potential. According to CoinMarketCap, XRP trades around $1.41 and ranks fourth-largest by market capitalization.
