BabyDoge has announced a time-sensitive community burn campaign, with only a few days remaining before the close of Q1 2026. The announcement, shared via the project’s official X account, comes as the team acknowledges a gap in its burn activity following a major community vote that removed the automatic DEX trading fee structure that had previously powered consistent token burns.
BabyDoge Burn Campaign to Continue
In May 2024, BabyDoge eliminated its 10% transaction fee following a community vote through its decentralised autonomous organisation. The fee was previously split equally between rewarding holders and funding burns, making every transaction on BabyDoge’s DEX a deflationary event by default. The removal of that fee broadened accessibility and brought in new holders, but it also shut off the automatic burn pipeline.
The project’s burn mechanism, which had helped push over 52% of the original 420 quadrillion supply into dead wallets, slowed considerably after the fee removal. With the new revenue-based burn mechanism still in development, community members approached the team about organising a manual burn campaign to bridge the gap.
According to the official announcement, community members independently approached the BabyDoge team requesting to organise the campaign. The team gave its full support. The initiative follows a long history of community-driven burns at BabyDoge, including campaigns where social media engagement was directly tied to token destruction, such as the “1 like equals $1 burned” initiative that previously generated significant buying pressure and price movement.
New Burn Model Unveiled
In its latest announcement, the Baby Doge Coin team confirmed the return of its token burn campaign, responding to growing demand from its community. The new initiative, dubbed “The Big Burn,” aims to help the ecosystem close Q1 2026 on a stronger note. At the same time, the project is adopting a more participatory model, directly involving holders in the process of reducing supply.
Under the updated framework, community members can voluntarily burn their BabyDoge tokens. In return, the BabyDoge team has committed to matching every token burned on a 50/50 basis. In simple terms, for every token a user removes from circulation, the team will burn an equal amount.
This matching mechanism effectively doubles the impact of each individual contribution, accelerating the overall reduction in token supply.
