Market analyst Xoom has predicted that XRP will soon overtake BNB to reclaim the third spot in the global cryptocurrency market ranking. His prediction comes hours after BNB overtook XRP by soaring to a valuation of nearly $200 billion.
BNB Outperforms XRP
As of now, BNB is trading around $1,279, with a market capitalization of $178 billion. It reached a new all-time high of $1,336 today before joining a broader market retracement.
BNB’s recent flight stems from a strong performance across the Binance ecosystem, increased trading activity, and investor optimism surrounding Binance’s continued global expansion. Its use in paying trading fees, staking, and DeFi applications has further fueled demand and contributed to the price rally.
Meanwhile, XRP is priced near $2.88, holding a market cap of $172 billion, which positions it as the fifth-biggest token globally. Despite falling below BNB and USDT in the rankings, Xoom emphasizes that XRP remains a fundamentally strong asset.
“This doesn’t mean XRP isn’t performing well,” he explained. “It’s holding all the structures that are needed to be held—it’s just that BNB has performed exceptionally well recently.”
BNB Will Stay Above XRP Temporarily: Analyst
According to Xoom, XRP is currently consolidating within key support levels, preparing for what could be its next major upward move. He believes the token will reclaim its third position when market momentum shifts.
XRP continues to benefit from its utility in cross-border payments and Ripple’s growing partnerships with financial institutions worldwide, which strengthen its long-term use case and investor confidence. Hence, the market watcher asserts that the next leg up for XRP would see it reclaim the keenly contested third spot.
Nonetheless, BNB’s current lead reflects the ongoing strength of exchange-driven tokens, while XRP’s position highlights the resilience of utility-based digital assets. Both remain among the top-performing cryptocurrencies of 2025, demonstrating the diversity of growth drivers in the digital asset market.
