In the latest crypto update, Shiba Inu’s burn activity has slowed sharply, with the community removing only about $9 worth of SHIB from circulation over the past 24 hours. The latest figure highlights a significant decline in token-burning activity as SHIB faces renewed selling pressure.
According to the latest burn data from Shibburn, the community destroyed approximately 1.94 million SHIB during the period. Although each burn permanently removes tokens from circulation, the latest figure represents only a tiny portion of Shiba Inu’s massive 589.15 trillion-token supply.
Consequently, the current burn volume has little immediate impact on SHIB’s overall supply. Moreover, the burn rate declined by 58.95% over the same 24-hour period, further emphasizing the slowdown.
SHIB Burn Activity Drops From July Peak
The latest burn figure looks particularly small compared with the much stronger activity recorded in late July.
On July 27, 2026, the Shiba Inu community destroyed more than 2 billion SHIB in a single day. In contrast, the latest 1.94 million-token burn represents only a tiny fraction of that amount.
Meanwhile, longer-term figures show that the community continues to remove SHIB from circulation. Approximately 46.52 million SHIB have been burned over the past seven days, while around 3.35 billion SHIB have been destroyed over the past 30 days.

SHIB Faces Risk of Falling Out of the Top 30
The slowdown in burns comes as Shiba Inu also faces mounting pressure in the broader cryptocurrency market.
SHIB currently ranks as 30th by market cap, with a market value of $2.65 billion. At the same time, the token has declined 3.8% over the past 24 hours and 10.09% over the past seven days.
As a result, continued weakness could put SHIB’s position among the top 30 cryptocurrencies at risk. If competing assets gain market value while SHIB continues to decline, the meme coin could eventually lose its current ranking.
